What are the basics to building SEO?

I'm trying to get my website (http://prophets.alqesas.com/) to show up on search engines when people search the phrase "Stories of the Prophet".

Is SEO just having a links to your websites all over the internet?

Also I already have the phrase "Stories of the Prophets" on my website a few times, does that help?

Analyse your site first. some basics of on page. meta, xml, sitemap, navigation, linking for inner pages. after that you will try to do off page tactics. firstly search engine submission is important for new site. after that some more submission like:

Directory Submission
Article Submission
Classified Submission
Blog Submission
PR Submission
Forum Posting
Blog Commenting
Bookmark Submission

You need to do following things:

1. Write some good unique content about your blog including your keyword - "Stories of the Prophet" 4-5 times probably.

2. Do the proper on page optimisation like title, description, geo tagging, rich snippets, site speed, etc.

3. Then start with content creation strategy for your blog - Write very informational content for your users which you thing would be interested to read about the same.

4. List your site on all local business directories and classifieds sites explaining your service/business.

5. Start being active on the main blogs/ news sites for your related niche and comment on them with conversational and helpful content.

6. Be active in forum and Q&A sites in relation to your niche.

7. Write a press release for your website on good PR websites with a back link to your own website.

8. Continue with these steps and you will start getting improvements for the keyword and your blog.

Once u are done with the onpage optimisation, you need to submit generate the xml sitemap and submit to the webmasters tools so that google/bing will index your site faster.
