why do so many people believe in government conspiracies?

i have some friends, 2 of them are on my facebook. and they post articles about nwo and cults and police officers they call pigs and the president being in on it.

The thing that links all of these theories is that there are things that don't make sense with the "true story" and no one involved will discuss the discrepancies. Logic pin points that to being something sinister. I don't believe all the conspiracy theories, but you would have to be very naive to think they are all untrue.

because the government has proven that it is untrustworthy . look at just how many politicians that are corrupt check out how much big business controls what happens in legislature and if none of that is convincing check out the NSA

Because people are haters. They don't agree with a lot of stuff the gov does especially when it affects them negatively. These same people hated every president we had for the last 20 years, good or bad. What they don't understand is the decisions that these people make benefit the greater good.

Because there is actually evidence of government conspiracies, that is often hidden from the public. That is the nature of conspiracy, those responsible have the means and intent to hide the activity.
