Search Engine problem..?

I have google chrome.
My search engine atm is Google Translate. The other ones are deleted. I did not delete all of them, just some. and its impossible to change and add. Even when I try to add it just disappears. Why is this happening?

Go onto the three horizontal lines in the top right of the browser> Settings> Go down to the fourth sub heading 'Search'> click on the drop down box and select what you want> Don't just exit! click on history then close it and it should work..
