Google chrome app question?

I've had google chrome as my web browser for awhile now and I remembered not having any apps on the page next to most visited sites but today I checked and there were 3 (Google search, Youtube and Gmail) are these supposed to be here? I'm curious because I'm constantly being hacked and was wondering if this would hurt me in any way.

No google automatically added those apps in the newest update for Google Chrome. It isn't a security breach don't worry
