How would I contact an old friend over the internet?

I recently started thinking about my old best friend from 2nd and 3rd grade, she moved at the end of 3rd and I remember her being the best friend ever. I found her on Facebook and added her but she has send a message turned off so it might look weird if she doesn't remember me. I also found her on Twitter and it's definetley her but how would I go about contacting her there? I can't really tweet her ''Hey you went to my old school?" or would that be normal? D:

It isn't weird. Contact her by anyway possible. Phone, Skype, Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, regular mail, Youtube. She must be very dear, but a lot of time has passed, she may have changed for better or for worse.

On Twitter you can send her a direct Messages(DM) and ask if she remember you and maybe want to exchange mail addresses.
