Can anyone help me,I'm kinda in a pickle?!?

I applied for several "prepaid" credit card's (when you put money down onto a credit card and they give you a credit line of that amount until you can work up enough credit to get a normal credit card) and I got denied. My credit score is 534. I want to get my credit score back to being good so I can apply for a student loan for school. I have a steady job but I really need some help,can anyone help me?

I think the way to fix this is to address whatever thing(s) gave you the 534 score in the first place. Is there an unpaid debt somewhere? Work with a credit counselor (there may be a free, nonprofit one in your area) to work up a budget and plan for repaying that debt. When the debt is repaid, your credit will improve.
