Does Siri use data or wifi?

So I have a limited data plan and would hate to use it on asking Siri a bunch of useless questions, so I'm asking, does Siri take data? Or just wifi? If I have Internet connection does that mean she won't use data? 10 points best answer. (I'm a teenage girl, dumb down the technology talk too please.)

If you are on wifi then you aren't using data. No wifi connection...data usage.
