Good internet service??? North Carolina residents help!!!?

I just moved into Monroe nc and I'm super frustrated with the internet service here. I was living in charlotte for about 9 months and while there I had AT&T and it was horrible. now I've been living in Monroe and I switched to TWC, I got the 50mbps package and their service is ridiculous, I'll run a speed test and on paper the internet is amazing! Ping at 15 download at 40-50mbps and upload at 5-6 but though the numbers are great, the internet is still bad. I searched online for other services and it seems that everything that I find is reviews on how services suck. Can anyone for the love of God refer me to a service provider that actually provides GOOD service. There has to be some company that provides good internet here, right? I live in the 28110 area. Thanks in advance.
