Hey Oocbm,

Well your question is about as vague as can be. How much can you make from having your own web site, depends on quite a few things. Do you want to have a blog? Membership site? Want to sell things? There are so many variables it's mind boggling. One thing for sure, 98% of the folks who do try making money online fail. You obviously have no clue exactly which approach you want to take at this point, I suggest doing a Yahoo search for the phrase, "how to get started in internet marketing" and see what you can learn there.

Best of luck

Yea unless you have a burning need to share you passion or interest in some subject you will probably not be motivated enough to put in the sustains effort to end up with more than another mediocre site that never earns significant revenue.

There are freelance and article brokers where you can write content for other sites and get more immediate payment along the lines of $3-$5 for a 500 word article without making the long term commitment of running a site..

A typical blog like you can create for free on Google's Blogger.com or wordpress.com would add Adsense advertising to earn revenue, which typically requires tens of thousands of visitors to earn the $100 min payout. Many typical half baked sites never hit the payout.

Hi oocbm,

As others have pointed out, making money from a website is a combination of lot of thing put together and working at the same time. If done correctly you can have just one website that earns you a living for the rest of your life.

However to put it in simple language, if you can create awesome value through your website in various forms such as text articles, videos, images then you can use this to generate revenue on a continuous basis.

There is no limit to how much you can earn and to get started first find out what kind of value you can provide. By the way if can even create an income without a website by selling your services.

One good example is to go to http://www.fiverr.com and see many people selling services of all kinds for just $5. You can get almost anything done for $5 there.

Hope this helps

Hi, you can earn more than you imagine if you create a successful website. Many entrepreneur out there earn a living just out of blogging. You can have a wordpress.com blog or blogger blog but to involve in serious business, you should create a website rather than blog. From your question, I assume you are in beginning level. I am suggesting you some websites based on you question.

1. http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/
2. http://www.incomediary.com/
3. http://www.trafficgenerationcafe.com/
4. http://2createawebsite.com/

I suggest you to subscribe to the newsletters of those websites where you can learn many things. The creator of those websites are much successful with their websites to quit their jobs and earn a living out of blogging.

I would recommend using WordPress as a framework to get you started. It is really easy to set up and get started with. I noticed this is in the SEO section and a great advantage to using WP is that there are amazing search engine optimization plugins that facilitate the process (I recommend "Yoast SEO").

Here is a guide to install WordPress:

I can personally get it set up within five minutes now it may take you a little bit longer first time around. You won't need any programming knowledge to start adding content and have a great looking website while giving you a lot of flexibility for changes down the road.

I hope this helped! Smile
