Can you share an internet connection between 2 computers using only 2 wireless networking cards? If you plug in a wireless networking card into 2 different computers, if one computer is connected to the internet, would the other computer have access to the internet?

Thanks.

You're going to need a hub or router and a couple cables.

If I'm understanding you right. You have 2 computers. One we'll call A. The other B. Both computers have wireless cards. And one let's say A is connected to the internet. If it's set up like that and computer B connects to computer A by wireless. Then yes both computers can have internet access. But if computer A is turned off. Computer B will no longer have connection to the internet. You just have to tell computer A to 'Share this connection' with other computers. And you have to set up computer B to use it's wireless to connect to the internet through A.

In short, no.

Wireless cards can only be connected to one other device at any given time. You cannot connect to, say, an access point AND another wireless card.

It is possible to connect two wireless cards together and create a mini LAN segment, this is called an ad-hoc network. The catch is that you're only able to share resources available to the two computers. Local (Windows) file sharing is possible, but anything Internet related is not.

If one of the computers had a separate connection to the Internet (via Ethernet or a second wireless card), your scenario can work through IP forwarding, also called internet connection sharing. However, it's impossible with two computers and two wireless cards. Sorry.

If your computer does have a separate internet connection, look up instructions for setting up connection sharing. It's pretty easy to do, but beyond the scope of my answer.

YES!

If you have one computer which has wired access to the Internet you can share this Internet connection to another computer using wireless cards.

Google "ad-hoc wireless". Lots of advice on different sites.

You need a wireless router,if your modem is aswellas a wireless router, then your two computer will get internet at the sametime,i hope you have installed the wireless card as an additional device,so there is another lan card on your system,if so then your two computer having 4 lan cards totally, one lancard and wirless card on both the system, you have to connect the internet to the ethernet port of any computer then that computer having an ip of 192.168.1.2 like that, and set another ip 192.168.1.3 to the wireless card of the same computer, then set an ip 192.168.1.4 to the second computer's wirless card, now i hope you can get internet and also you have to bother the dns server
