Is social rejection as painful as being in physical pain?

So basically, if a group of people make an avid effort to exclude you from a group - and write mean things about you on a website that you're blocked on.

Does that amount to bullying? and is it hurtful?

I think it is much worse.
People deliberately cut themselves, to show their mental pain.

Yes it is hurtful. It is just like a break-up; vindictive and retaliatory.

Imagine someone throwing your photo against the wall, wanting it to shatter, so he (or she) can see the two of you in a sea of shards.

It's bullying, and it could be hurtful, but then if you don't really care, it's probably not so hurtful at all. Doesn't change the fact that it's bullying.

Personally I wouldn't put it on par with physical pain. I wouldn't be hurt at all. I don't particularly value the opinions--good or bad--of people who behave like teenagers using the internet unsupervised because mommy forgot to log off and set the password.

Never underestimate the power of emotional abuse or cyber bullying, though. People have killed themselves over it.

No
Not to me
I would simply move on
I can avoid this pain from social rejection
which to me to be honest is not very painful at all
but with physical pain
it's harder to avoid
What others think of me has never amounted to much for me
I think for myself

The emotional pain I can't stand and I find it equal or worse than physical pain
is when I Desperately Desire Someone/Something I Can't have
That's debilitating for me

social rejection leaves scars. It may affects one's thinking and of doing things. And yes it is bullying. If u are uncomfortable of the people around u dont waste time to get out. Save yourself. Start fresh.

It is different and causes its own special kind of pain; emotional and psychological.

If they are writing mean things about you or rumors etc, that is bullying.

It is 'cyberbullying', there isn't much you can do about it, if your blocked from the site, except not go visiting the site ever again. If the bullies are strangers, then you can feel upset, but realise that they probably have no 'real' friends and are not very nice people, promptly forget about them and move on.

If they are people you know in real life, then you should probably try and copy and paste what they've written about you, and post it on your facebook page, in the hope that their 'real' friends will read it and tell them off. Or you could blank them and move on. Yes it's hurtful, but then so is standing on shards of glass.
