i know this might be a stupid question but what are adsense checks?

Google Adsense is for publishers that display ads on Google's behalf (Google's ad network). Google used to send out checks (Adsense Checks) on a monthly bases to publishers that participated in their Adsense program. Checks over 10k would come Fedex/UPS. Anything under that would come regular mail. They have since stopped sending out physical checks and only distribute via direct deposit. Hope that helps.
