I got banned from Omegle and so did a lot of others?
Someone told me the DNS was being attacked by some porn site? Anyway, I got a message saying "Your computer/network is banned for possible bad behavior.

You can still use Omegle, but only the unmonitored section. You must be 18 or older.

(If you didn't do anything wrong, sorry! Mistakes happen sometimes. Your ban won't last forever.)"

But what makes me curious is..After I got banned, I started asking people if they were banned too..And six people said they got banned. Two of them were pissed off because they didn't do anything. I was banned right after I talked to this really nice girl, and I made friends with her. Then, all of a sudden..Omegle linked me to some random porn website that showed some girls vagina. And it turns out other users went through the same thing.

What's going on?
Alright, first off. There's no need for the insults. Second, the girl had nothing to do with it. Don't be an idiot. I was having other conversations long after I talked with her. I just mentioned it to imply that I was NOT misbehaving. Thirdly, it wasn't exactly me clicking a link..As much as it was me being redirected to the page when I got the banned message. And other people are experiencing this as well. How about you grow up? Picking fights on Yahoo answers. Really?
But..How am I the culprit if this happened to others way before me?
Well, guess waitings all I can do, really. I just didn't want them to somehow pin this on ME, and send the FBI kicking down my door. They had this same problem in 2012 with that very same website. There's a forum post about it anyways.. Oh well, at least I got a new friend on Skype to do calls with.

If you are stupid enough to follow all the links people send you, and take it for granted that "really nice" girl was really nice, or even a girl and not some pedophile guy, you are likely to get banned all over the Internet. Or get your computer trashed by hackers. Grow up.

hmmm this is a really good question... Sounds like you were reported by a user. Or you were sent a link and when you accepted the link (you accepted it by clicking it) their servers picked up on it and it flagged you. It is hard to say exactly what happened and they banned you not to stop you from playing in the site but, for your protection. They are most likely trying to locate and decipher the information and since this has happened to many it shouldn't take them long to know what happened.

Hope this helps Smile

***edit well since you didn't click the link and it just redirected you to a new site Omegle still picked up on it and flagged you as the culprit (not saying you meant to or anything). either way they are doing it for your protection and figuring out how to prevent it from happening again. They would much rather you hate them for a ban than have you report them for abusive behavior. And yes they can be reported lose their site and all its members under these circumstances. security should be number one to any site.

*****edit2 it was from your account the incident happened. no one is saying your at fault. Like I said it is for your protection as well as theirs Smile I'm sure they just want to find out what happened. When a site gets a flag it is an automatic response not someone on the other end just being cruel. Consider for a moment a couple hundred thousand people working at once there is no way that everyone could be watched all the time so what companies do is create programs that watch for deviant behavior when that behavior happens it sends a flag. When that flag is sent that computer program does its response and sends that information to a desk where a person over looks what happened. As you said this has happened to many so it may take a while to figure out what happened.

In the end the best that can be done is wait it out for a few days and see if that helps. If the problem don't get resolved you can always contact them. But, give them their time they are only human.

****edit3 no worries about the FBI. As a matter of fact, when a Website is created they have to put in details about who they are and an E-mail they can be located at (I have built a Website). The Web Host gets IP addresses for the creators of that site. There are ways to track and get people like that. In the end you are just a person standing in the wrong place at the wrong time.
