If I take pictures of some illegal assault rifles and hold them on facebook will the gov care?

There are no "illegal" rifles in America. You just need licensing for some of them.

You can own a fully automatic M-60 belt fed light machine gun if you get the right permits.

Conversely you can go to many ranges and rent the opportunity to fire them, and of course get some photos with it.

So who is to say a facebook photo is evidence of anything illegal.
