What should I put in my Home Page?
I just made my website. I made it to spread word about my new book series. The next step was to fill out the Home Page and I don't know how. There's a difference between the Home Page and 'About Us'. What should I type in the box? I really need help. This is my first website, so I don't want any judging.
I'm using Webs: http://www.webs.com My targeted demographic is children(ages 9-11) and preteens(age 12). Ads |

You didn't make a website, you just signed up for some account somewhere with a homogenous template like Tumblr or Wordpress/derivative etc.
The best thing you can do is delete this question and re post it with more specific information. IN YOUR NEW QUESTION POST: * Articulate in your question which service host/fork you are using. * Provide more/detailed information about you targeted demographic - You should optimise your descriptions based on your targeted audience an consider their age, education level, attention span etc. * etc etc. EDIT: No intention to judge your age, a mere habit. ________________________________ EDIT: I used to use Webs before the current API when they still allowed non template and .html, .css + content uloads (like geocities and angelfire used to be like). The "About us" field as with many other sites like Youtube's "About", Myspace's "About Me" etc are for a short description or blurb of what you or your oganisation are about. It could even include a truncated version of a mission statemnet etc. The whole point is not to rant, choose a short and concise way to descibe the site and give "only" relevant and important personal information that can emphasise your experience to that of the site. Many search engines when bot collecting trawling or via paid placement will use the "About Me" section to discern keywords for META data. So again don't rant or bloat, make every word strike the intended mark. Ads |
