How to transfer Don't Starve to Steam?

I have Don't Starve on Google Chrome, and I have my universal key. I can't seem to download Don't Starve on Steam without buying it, though! How do I enter my code without having to buy the game again?

Try asking the Steam community or Steam support. Surely, that would be the better option.

In the steam library tab, there should be an option that says "Add a game to steam." From there, you find the option to install a game via code, and try entering the code there.
