Isnt this advertising God? When they post those pics on Facebook?
So you know how they post those pics on Facebook that says "This is a test,if you believe in God share this photo,he is watching you.", you know stuff like that. Well I do believe in God and Jesus Christ,I attend church every Sunday, and occasionally read the scriptures. I'm Mormon which is Christain. Ok so anyways I feel like those pics are either advertising or disrespectful! Idk why but I do! Is it? Am I just over reacting? I just don't feel like its right. And then there's like if you believe in heaven, keep scrolling if you believe in heck! Idk why but I feel like these pics are disrespectful! I'm serious! Am I overreacting? Thank you!

I don't like that either because it seems like the people who do like or share the photos are doing it for show, I guess.

I totally agree! Of course its not really a test because if you really believe in God, you don't need to show it by re posting things and you need to show it by your actions.

I don't know, maybe you should have asked this in Religious and spiritual catagory.

But what I can say is I don't think God cares what you like and what you don't like on facebook. What I hate most its those emails that they send with pictures of Jesus saying you should forward this to ten people or else you will have bad luck for the rest of your life. Well what if I don't have ten friends that I email?

So just ignore those things its people who just want attention and they don't care about God.

I find it obnoxious; it's a form of spam. When I see someone posting stuff like that, I stop displaying their updates in my news feed, and if they continue bothering me with app requests and such I'll block them. If it's someone I know well personally, I'd try asking to stop first or just block app requests from them.

Yes, you are over reacting. If you don't like them, ignore them and move on. How many people out there are sick of seeing the "and I'm a Mormon" vids and ads? Do like they do, ignore them, and just move on.

It's arguably sinful hypocrisy. Jesus spends a lot of time in the New Testament (don't know about the Book of Mormon) warning against public displays of faith unless there's a real point to them, because flaunting your piety to win the esteem of men is sinful, and will not be rewarded in heaven. Unless you have a good reason for displaying your faith, better not to do it, and avoid inviting temptation.

Note that there's nothing inherently disrespectful about advertising religion. That's commonly known as evangelism or proselytisation. It's how and why you do it that matters.
