Sounds like a direct sales job. With most of these you have to buy hundreds of dollars worth of stock upfront, then try to sell it to your friends and family. And you have to get them to keep buying from you every month. Most direct sales companies have minimum monthly buys, meaning you are spending money upfront before you get any sales
I don't know what Melaleuca is but I had an old housemate who must have lost over $10,000 over the time I was living with her after getting involved in all sorts of direct sales company - vitamins and supplements, skincare, cookware, sex toys and lingerie, weight loss products, etc. No matter how much she lost, she kept going for the next one thinking that would be the one to make her rich, but instead her bedroom turned into a warehouse and she had no room to move around because she had so many boxes of products she had to buy without selling
Before you get into any direct sales company, take a poll of your friends and family to see how many of them would even be interested in purchasing those products. Because if you can't count on the people you know supporting you, do you really think you'll make money having to go door to door or cold calling people or spamming their emails trying to make a sale?

Is it a real company? Yes.

Would you make any money? No, probably not.

It is MLM (Multi-Level Marketing). You must sell products and recruit others to do the same. Their products tend to be good but expensive. This makes selling them and recruiting others very tough.

As such, most people who join, never make any money.

As a customer of Melaleuca, I would have to say that the company is very real. Their products are very competitively priced compared to discount stores like Walmart, but are of Whole Foods quality. My only reservations are that there is no free shipping. However every other month I have enough Loyalty Dollars to cover shipping so in all there are really no complaints. I can not speak for the selling aspect personally, but my old college friend signed us up and that was pretty much it. He made us a log in and password for the site and his job was done. I couldn't imagine him carrying around a car full of soaps and lotions hahaha. I don't think he has made enough to quit his job, but from what I hear it is a decent second job. We have placed an order every month for the last 8 months, and always receive our products within 2-3 days. It is better to get info from people involved than people who are just guessing. If you have any questions you should email him FrankWellness@gmail.com
