No, your games are saved inside your Wii itself. You need an internet connection if you want to download games like the original Super Mario Brothers. Some games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl support online play which you would need an internet connection for. But, you could still play the game just fine without the online portion regardless of whether your Wii is on the internet or not.

You don't need a wireless connection to save your game. The game saves automatically as you play through it.

If you're having trouble getting a connection with your router, it may be the speed or signal strength. Nintendo recommends having your router set to channel 1 or 11. If you're unsure how to do this, consult your instruction manual for the router, or head to the manufacturer's website.

you don't need an internet connection or a memory card, your games are saved inside the wii console itself.the internet connection is used for the check mii out channel and others.i downloaded it, and it's actually pretty cool. the memory card is used if you want to play ur saved games on someonelse's wii, instead of taking urs over 2 their house.
