Is there a glitch with twitter?

Okay so I followed someone recently, and they followed back. Today, I could see his tweets and stuff. Now, it says neither of us follow each other. We had sent direct messages, so I went into there. I can still view their profile, but the follow button says "follow" but is cloudy (like it looks white almost, and I can't press it). I can still view the profile picture and stuff though. Is twitter going glitchy? Have I been blocked?
