Tumblr! How to add content to one page only?
Say I wanted to make a page where I could post blog posts (for example) on Tumblr but I wouldn't want my posts to appear on my home page and only on that specific page? .. is there a way I can do this? I'm not talking about tagging the post then making a redirect linked page for that tag because they appear on the home page that way
[same goes for any kind of content.. pictures, text..]

any tumblr experts out there that can help me? thanks!

I don't know of any way to post to your main blog and prevent the post from showing up there. You might be able to do something evil with tags and JavaScript to keep posts off your main "index" page, but they'd still show up in your archive and on your followers' dashboards.

Some possibilities are to either create a new Tumblr account with its own separate blog and post these items there instead of in your existing blog; or to create a "secondary blog" under your existing Tumblr account and post these items into that secondary blog; or to create a new page within your existing blog and manually insert these items into that page.

Managing a separate page is tedious (you can't really "post" into a standalone page -- you have to manually edit the new material into the page and manually provide details like timestamps and links that you you get automatically on a normal post) so if you're going to putting a lot of items into this separate area then I'd go with the secondary blog or the new account/blog.

A secondary blog is easy to create and you post to it just like you do to your main blog, but a secondary blog does have some limitations, like not being able to 'like' other posts or 'follow' other blogs or 'ask' questions. You can only do those things from your main blog, not from a secondary. On the other hand, there are some things you can do with a secondary blog that you can't do with your main blog -- for instance, you can put a password on a secondary blog. For details, see https://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/blog_management

If those limitations are a problem for you then the remaining choice is to set up a new account with an entirely new, separate blog. There's a certain amount of hassle involved in doing this, like needing to create and remember a new email address and password, and having to log out in order to move between your existing blog and this new one.

I don't know exactly how you intend to use this new area, but if you just want a place where you can easily post items without having them show up on your existing blog then the secondary blog is your best bet.
