how do you find out the type of internet connection you are using?

I go to the start menu on my windows computer, then I go to control panel, selet network connection, but there is like 10 different connections listed. How do I know which internet connection that my computer is using? I need to know this because I am trying to allow my xbox 360 to be able to connect right into my internet from the data box, but I read somewhere you must enable a shared connection.

Just do a trial and error method for each connection you see. For example right click one and click disable and open up a website to see if your internet connection is working.
