unable to use chrome. can only move from one link to the other but not type the link in the address bar?
32.0.1700.107 (Official Build 248368) is the version i am using. all was well until i called a tech guy to fix my desktop since it was giving burning smell from disuse. i was afraid that something may blast and therefore called a "professional" paid him and got more issues from him.
he deleted something in few minutes i was distracted and also added some kind of virus using his pendrive . i know it because he was "suggesting" rather insisting that i buy antivirus from him and was saying u may be using pendrives frequently and will get virus etc. whereas i don't even own one.

well now chrome and internet explorer don't work. chrome is able to move from one link to another but will not allow me to use search engine. if i reset it then it will allow for as long as that session is open. any ideas how to solve it. any body who may have solved similar issues.

also windows explorer has started crashing and so is windows media player.
i cant figure out what he deleted. he did it in front of my dad who doesn't know anything about computers . he told him that something was loading my desktop and deleted it. there were changes to program files section.nothing was installed that day . can anyone suggest what that could be?

cannot use my desktop properly. any suggestions. thanks in advance

---

update is that i have installed firefox and it runs without any problems. but i have been great fan of chrome and want to use it. any help is appreciated.
After using antimalware bytes
windows media player also runs sometimes at others it will hang and cause windows explorer to crash.i switched to vlc. i mean i would like to be virus free even if i have alternatives. since i cannot move things between my desktop and laptop for the fear of infecting my laptop too.
Would dread to call a techie again..

Sometimes Google chrome system files get corrupted.
You have to uninstall it manually & again reinstall it after rebooting.

The manual uninstall process is not same as the usual uninstall process.
It is used to remove all chrome data from your computer to delete the corrupted system files.

(Backup your Bookmarks before uninstalling)
After reinstalling it, it will work fine.
