Internet NETGEAR A6200 WiFi USB not stable on my gaming desktop?
So I got a new USB for my internet and when I want to download things over night, say a torrent or a REALLY big file downloading on my chrome browser the internet just shuts itself off, like a little symbol with a monitor and a little red X symbol on the bottom left side. Sometimes, I have to change the USB slots which is really annoying because I cant find a USB slot without the internet going whack on this USB. I recently upgraded my main router hoping for better stabilization on the USB's internet but alas, no luck. That's why I called the computer company before I got the USB and said it's easier that I get an external USB so I went to RadioShack and bought one. So this is why I come to you guys, because heck why not. Tongue

Hey man, hope I didn't see this too late!! I actually had the exact same problems a few months ago, well my problem was that the USB adapter would always over heat, then lose signal and eventually disconnect and shut down untill it got cool again, also another problem I found is that when I connect my android phone to the PC while the USB adapter is plugged in and connected to wifi it would disconnect too, I found a few solutions for the first problem (card overheating, the problem it has with my android is still unresolved)
1. try connecting the USB adapter to a USB 3 port on your pc instead of a USB 2 port, this fixed my problems, but you might not have a USB 3 port (very unlikely you don't have one)
2. if you don't have USB 3 port or are unsure, you can plug the USB adapter into a USB extension cord, and use the USB adapter through there (worked for me too)
3. you could buy a PCI E wireless adapter (best solution IMHO) I have done all three and I really think buying a PCI E wifi card is the best option to solve your problems...
Hope this helps!!
