Does eBay Vero Items Based on the Title and Description or Based on the Picture?
People that have an image of a counterfeit lifeproof case but in the title just say waterproof generic iphone case never get there listings taken down. Will they not get caught if they don't say lifeproof anywhere but put a picture of the case?

Vero users often scan through the listings themselves searching for fakes. If a photo shows it's a fake they are going to see it. Many users also report listings as well.

It all depends on the VERO member, and how vigilant they are about their brands and products. Some VERO members are more vigilant than others, and will routinely scan for
- names of the brand or product - photos of brand or product - description fitting the brand or product Some VERO members file a complaint because they found the brand name in the title or description. Others do it because of the photos used. My business is a VERO member on eBay, and our brand is typically not mentioned in products sold by eBay members. We have gone to the extent of bidding and winning the bid to ascertain if the product being sold was ours -- and successfully kicked off eBay members who sold our products without our permission. If you're curious how that VERO member operates, I suggest you watch over auctions featuring products of that VERO member -- with and without naming the brand in the title. You can then see how vigilant that VERO is. |
