What kind of software, that is not pre-installed, is compatible with the Google Chrome OS (Google Chromebook w/ internet connection)???

Any web based app will work since the Chrome OS device runs web apps instead of software programs. Go to this Google Chrome page for starters:

Then click the link at the beginning of the page to "Find apps for your Chrome device"
