Router and Phone question?
I have a great 4G LTE Mobile hotspot, and I wanna know if I can connect my phone to a router and maybe improve the connection? But the Network ID will be Netgear, lynksys, or whatever brand I get?
@Nick I have a Hotspot on my phone, and wanna hook it up to a router. I wanted to know will my Router turn into an access point, from my mobile hotspot?

Any smart phone can connect to a router via wifi and allows you to use your internet without using up your wireless data.

A mobile hotspot turns your phone into a wireless access point for computers to use the internet on your phone at the cost of your wireless data.

Edit: No. Your hotspot already turns your phone into a wireless access point. There isnt a way to connect a mobile hot spot to a router to allow it as a range extender. Your router pulls from your broadband or DSL. Your hotspot pulls from your wireless data.

you won't be able to "improve the connection as such". It will either be your 4G or broadband or whatever you have currently coming into your house. Technically you can do something like this but its more hassle than it is worth. I would not bother. The router needs to be compatible with USB if your connecting it that way, it only works on certain routers etc.

Phone tethering isn't allowed in a lot of contracts so you could end up with a blocked phone or hefty charges etc. Plus you will go through data at a super fast rate. If you want a better signal get a better router like N+ or something or even use cables. Or even upgrade your internet speed.
