Hi There,
The steps for the wired connection are:
Click "Start"
Click "Control Panel"
Click "Network and Internet Connections"
Click "set up or Change your Internet Connection"
This opens up the "Internet Properties" dialog box with the "Connections" tab selected.

Near the top click the "Setup" box.
this opens up the wizard and from there you will need to enter the information from your ISP.

For a wireless connection you can click on the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard " instead of the "Set up or Change your Internet Connection"

Just follow the directions and it should work.
You probably need to know the name of your wireless connection and the pass phrase or password.

This should get you headed in the right direction.
For more information you can click on "Start" select the "Help and Support" option and do a search for internet connections.

Good Luck,
Al
