Where do "bitcoins" come from?
They have to originate somewhere, don't they? How do I go about issuing my own bitcoins?

Bitcoins are generated when computers complete difficult calculations. Computer processors go through 'blocks' of data to solve them and thus generate Bitcoins. This process of generating bitcoins is called 'mining bitcoins'. Mining is done using powerful computer processors and requires a long amount of time. It may sound slightly vague at this point but there are some videos you can watch to explain it-

This is the main bitcoin website that gives all sorts of information about bitcoins. Check it out.

Also, an easy way to generate bitcoins is to mine them yourselves OR use this site-

(I prefer the site since the rewards are much larger than through mining.) Mining individually can take months to generate even a small amount and requires a lot of electricity usage.
