internet connection required PS3?
Is an internet connection required for playstation 3 games, all i want to do is play on the single player mode but reading a review regarding Gt5 someone mentioned an 8gig download.

I know about the perks of PSN but id like to have the option rather than be forced to by necessity.

If you want to download the game from the PSN store then yes you need Internet to download it but if you bought the disk you do not. The download does not use Internet. You only need an Internet connection to play online with people. Hope this helps and please answer mine!

To break it down better:

1) No, you don't need Internet to play on the PS3 for single player.

2) However, some games do have updates which you *do* need to connect to download the updates. Though these updates are optional, but some do help with quality and stability of the games.

3) You would need to be connected if you want to download any games directly, or get any add-ons (also called DLC -- DownLoadable Content).

4) You would also need to be signed in to PSN if you want to sync your trophies to save on your profile in case you have to format your PS3 or get a new one, so you don't have to start over earning trophies.
