A political science degree is really only good if you are going to go to law school. Communications and social science are equally useless. None of these majors prepare you to do anything that an employer will want. Consider the job you are looking to get before you choose a major.

I'm going to contradict what Donald B has answered somewhat. He is correct in that you need to consider what is the final outcome of your studies. Are you looking for a job in public service as in politics or as an educator? That should help you decide which minor/secondary study to consider.

If you're thinking of something in the public service sector such as politics, mass communication might be a good second. You'll learn strategies for public speaking, how to use media effectively and the value of social media (internet). Those might be good skills to have for public service or marketing.

On the other hand social science will also support your political science, since political science is a social science. If the social science curriculum includes sociology and psychology then that might be useful to your public service/political science major. With these concentrations you'd learn a lot more about the human and how he/she reacts to outside forces both personally and in a society, both of which would be good knowledge to have in politics.

Again, it all depends on your final destination.
