Aren't most the questions in Yahoo answers of the discussion type? I mean, I could ask about the mass loss of protons, and what could I get but discussion? Other than proven mathematical equations, what isn't open to discussion?
Isn't there quite a bit of bias in what questions are deleted? For instance, this question was not deleted:

Why are white conservatives so racist and elitist?
Is this why all of the educated people vote for Democrats? I have an IQ of 160 so I know I'm far smarter than 99.9% of all conservatives.

What kind of non chat, information specific question is that?

Most are chat violations. They are more discussion seeking further discussion that questions seeking specific knowledge or information.

I see them as chat questions as you are asking for opinions and not facts

all chat violations as well as some are tasteless and bordering on rant
====================

every time someone is reported they wonder why they were and not others - there are thousands of questions and answers being posted every minute by 200 million accounts - only a fraction of members (we are all Community Moderators) bother to report and even fewer have the ability to drop what they report

just because others are posting violations and not being spotted by a reporter does not make it okay for everyone to break the rules

what have you done to help? did you report those Qs you are complaining about?

if you want to start deleting bad content then start reporting a lot of violations and dedicate hours to this task every day for weeks on end to gain high TR (trust rating)

and no, YA is NOT a discussion board, it is a question and answer forum, not a message board, debate site, or chat site

ask a meaningful question that is more of general interest not only of personal interest to you, word it as a proper question

make an attempt to give a meaningful answer to the question asked without chatting or insulting or going off topic

pretty much anything else is a violation
did you read the Community Guidelines when you signed up?
