Can I have sex at 16 with my 18 year old boyfriend?
My boyfriend and I have been going out for a year, I'm 16 and he's 18. I was his first kiss when he was 17, and I think we're going to have sex soon. However, I'm worried it'll be illegal or something. We live in Massachusetts. Can someone find out if it'll be a problem?

Although it's unlikely to be prosecuted, legally speaking, your boyfriend could wind up in prison if he's 18 and you're under 18.
Here's the law in Massachusetts: MGL c.272, s. 4. Inducing person under 18 to have sexual intercourse. "Whoever induces any person under 18 years of age of chaste life to have unlawful sexual intercourse shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for not more than three years or in a jail or house of correction for not more than two and one-half years or by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by both such fine and imprisonment." |

Do a search or rather he should have found out as he will be the one charged if you are under age
guess what??? Its 16 so you can legally have sex but still check it out however I think it would be a good idea to see what he says to find out if he does care for you or if he only wants sex |

If it is truly love between you two. No one will know you two had sex I you dot go telling everyone. And if you did truly love eachother. I am not sure why you're go telling everyone anyways lol. Just be safe. Use common sense and you're fine (: good luck!

Honey. I'm 17 and my last boyfriend of 2 years wanted to have sex and tried to get me to on multiple occasions, I turned him down on everyone. He was my first kiss also. Never ever ever think you have to have sex with someone just becasue y'all have been together for so long. With me he asked so many times I dumped him and for a good cause. If your not ready then say NO it's not that hard. And when he's 18 and your 16 yes it's illegal unless both of your parents agree to y'all being together. My friend is 15 and dating at 25 year old (it's disgusting). Never do something if your not ready. I hope this helps...

Chapter 272, Section 4 sets [the] age of consent at 18 when the "victim" is "of chaste life" and the perpetrator induces them.
However, the official age of consent is 16. So are you a good girl or a naughty one? guess you could always claim you induced him. I doubt Massachussetts would be arresting every high school couple that has sex. |
