Do you need a bank account for Paypal?
I'm 15, and I was thinking about being a freelancer and finding an online job. Just something rewarding to do for fun in my spare time because I'm always online (with ironically nothing to do).
Thing is, I obviously need an online bank account to transfer money. I hear that online job sites need you to have a live bank account also in order to transfer money to pay you? I mean isn't Paypal used to shop online and is basically a bank account? So, do you need a bank account for Paypal? If not, how do you get the money? (I've actually heard you get it as a check in the mail, but it takes a while.) How do you shop online with Paypal? And does anyone know a site that hires teens/people that doesn't require a live bank account? Thanks, In advance Ads |

Paypal holds money, if you we're to get an online job, Paypal could possibly be used as a theoretical 'bank account' and hold your money.

You need to be aged 18 to open a Paypal account in your name. If you breach this policy and something goes wrong with a transaction Paypal considers you to be in the wrong no matter what the actual circumstances are.
To overcome this get your parents/guardian to open an account in their name that you can use. You also have to link a bank account &/or credit card account to your Paypal account - there's no exceptions. |
