I think your over thinking this. Answer this question. Will you ever re-add then as a friend if they start talking to you again?

Only defriend if you aren't their friend in real life otherwise your just writing stuck into fb drama and ain't nobody got time for dat! Ha

Life is hard and stressful and full- not everyone has time for facebook and even if they do maybe they just want to relax and look at pictures of cats to forget about their stressful day/life so answering messages just isn't what they feel like doing. If the person is a good enough friend to you, call them on the phone or go talk to them in person....you know, get a life outside facebook, live a little, BE a friend. If they're not that good a friend that you can do that then what are you worried about, unfriend them and go make some real friends in real life.
