I've liked a guy since I was 12 now 23 . Son of family friends. We didn't talk for a few years until about 1-2 years ago when I started seeing him every few months (through family)

Every few months when he's been drinking he gets on facebook and asks me to hang out, etc and basically spills all his feelings. The next day he reads it, gets embarrassed and I don't hear from him

It's like a constant asking me to hang out.. then doesn't set anything up. A big one last night, his sisters party/fuction he was drinking.. he hugs me when i was leaving and no joke infront of all his family says Love you.. and if i give him my pony he'll take me on a date (i have a pony, but i don't get what he said). Then his mum yells out he likeees youuuu

So over the past year he's asked me to hang out a few times, said love you and he wants to take me on a date. I think the signs are clear he likes me.. but he never, ever has actually gone through with it. It's like he gets embarrassed or something.

I must say i'm very stubborn/passive and never talk to him first or have tried to set up a date. I'm just scared I'll look like an idiot incase he doesn't like me.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think he likes me and is scared to go through with it?

I notice he's never had a proper girlfriend, for sure I think he's slept with girls. And he had a on/off thing with a girl 8years older than him but nothing

Should I start talking to him more? And do you think he likes me 100%?

Oh man i know the feeling, I'm struggling with a guy who gets very flirty one day then acts like he hates you the next. You have to be clear with him and tell him what you want, otherwise you'll never get anywhere. Ask him where you stand with him when he's actually sober and if he actually meant anything he said.
