Uninstalled and reinstalled windows xp now i have problems connection to internet?
So, a few hours ago I uninstalled windows XP then reinstalled, and for the life of me I can't connect to the internet, I have been through everything and on internet connection there is only the 1394 connection showing? What happened to the other ones and how do I fix it? Is there any way for me to connect to the internet?

XP has terrible driver support. When you reinstall WinXP you need to install the drivers for the hardware. You need the ethernet driver in order to connect to your network. This would have to be done of course from a computer that has internet access and then installed from a thumb drive or burned disc. You can find the driver from the PC manufacturers website easily.

Sidebar:
After you get the driver issue resolved, and if you (like many others) plan to keep your XP system*, make sure to get all your drivers onto a CD so you have a quick way to restore them.
Try Driver Magician Lite (freeware);
http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwbackup.html
Use it to identify & back up all drivers for this BU**. Put the file it creates onto a dedicated storage medium. Always keep it with your unit and labelled.

*Using any XP system on the Internet after the 'end of life' support later this year will mean almost certain problems with malware. Do so at your own risk.

**XP driver update should be done as soon as you get Internet restored.
Go to Microsoft Windows Update.
While there, tick the "Custom" (not "Express") button.
This will give drivers and specific things for your unit.
