But I put the starting bid at 5$ and say the bids don't go higher then what I really want can I end the auction after a bid was put in

I believe it would be against the rules to do this. You should consider having a reserve auction and set the reserve for the minimum amount you would be willing to sell the item for. Either that or just set the opening bid price for $100 and see where it goes.

You can end the auction after its been bid on, but you will still be obligated to sell that item for the ending price of the auction to that buyer unless you cancel the bids on the auction before you end the auction.
