Chrome is faster than Firefox but Chrome also is not very safe in the sense that you're giving Google even more information about yourself. They already know TONS about you because of everything that you search for using their search engine (they save all those searches).

If you want to actually have some privacy on the internet then use Firefox and enable Do Not Track and use the search engine called "Duck Duck Go" which doesn't save your search queries.

Safari Hands Down.
I say this because Chrome is uses Safari Web Kit which Apple made available for others to use.
Using safari also gives you the comfort that google is not breathing on the other end of your internet connection. Well, as much as apple have tried to ensure users privacy.

If you're using firefox, that's OK, its not the fastest of browsers but it still is alright.
I'd not really use chrome unless I was on a PC, even though there use to be a safari for windows.

Safari has a bunch of advantages, it's faster and a much lighter app. It is uses on both IOS and android devices. I say android because chrome uses safari web kit which is the heart and soul of the browser. Google Chrome is just a different UI and slightly slower browser.

To be fair Google chrome unlike Safari, does have certain plugins built into the browser its self like java script, flash and Web M. This doesn't really matter though as safari grabs the plug ins automatically from with in the operating system. It also uses more modern web standards that are preferred over legacy ones like flash and java script. Flash is still supported.
http://www.apple.com/safari/what-is.html
The above link will tell you about Safari in more detail.

If you are not convince by my word, you can go on this website,
http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/

That website is a web browser tester respectfully provided by microsoft, but can be used to test any browser. You can decide from that.

Advertising from google skimming your gmail, web browsing, searches and more should be considered when using chrome, as google does this.

Safety regarding both firefox and safari are better than chrome because they are not googles pets. Google has some privacy issues which also span on their other products or software to,

But If safari came on your machine like that old saying says, "if its not broken, don't fix it"
same as internet explorer 10 which is a decent browser for Windows.

Goodluck

Chrome is usually meant for USB wireless Dongles, which behaves slighly faster than firefox, in speed wise I am satisfied with Firefox, some say that firefox sucks but it is not true, you can adjust your cache settings for that. Chromes main idea is to become popular and get into the market to make it no 1. That is why every internet page you visit will have a link to download chrome. Speedwise both safari and Firefox are almost same.....as I am using this yahoo answers webpage from Firefox macbook pro.......:-))

Chrome has developed quickly and is already more popular than Firefox. It has extensions, plugins, themes, and has passed Firefox in many browser tests, such as the Sunspider. It aims to be the fastest browser out there.

Start-up Time
Google Chrome starts up faster.
Chrome does in general start up faster, most noticeable when doing a cold boot. Firefox has however been improving its speed lately and is catching up.

Memory
Memory use varies depending on add-ons (extensions and plugins) and overall system usage of memory in relation to available memory. However, when your computer is idle, Firefox does sometimes start hogging its memory. When going out of idle state, the memory usage drops accordingly.

Security and Stability
Google Chrome creates a new process for each tab and extension running.
This makes each tab a bit more isolated from the rest, so it may end up making the browser more secure and stable. In Firefox, sometimes if one site is misbehaving, you have to kill the entire browser (and along with it all the other tabs which are open). However, in real life scenarios Google Chrome is reported to fully crash more often than Firefox. [citation needed]

Compatibility
Both of the browsers offer about the same compatibility with some webpages working better in one or the other of the browsers. An extension called IE Tab, which is available for both browsers, emulates Internet Explorer to make IE-only webpages available on other browsers.

Updating
Google Chrome updates automatically.
This keeps everyone on the same version, improving compatibility and helping the web to modernize. Firefox makes you manually update to each new release.

In the end, it is up to your personal needs. Something to note is that all browsers, including ones not listed here such as Opera and Internet Explorer, are subject to constant change and which one is better is likely to change in the future.

They are both good browsers. Chrome may be faster than firefox, but may not better or safter than firefox.
