Can I put SEO keywords in a scrollable box at the bottom of my site?
My site need more keywords. There are one or two competitors of mine that currently have a scrollable text box at the bottom of their home page that features a few paragraphs of relevant literature full of keywords. Does anyone know if this is ok from an SEO point of view. Does google take a dim view of this sort of stuff or is it ok?
Please try and keep your answers as simple as poss guys as I know the world of SEO is EVER so complicated!. Ads |

To start with SEO is relatively simple. But to answer your question, scrollable text is not recommended from SEO point of view - it might just provide a better user experience. I would recommended that you keep major keywords in the title tag & meta description. Also, keep keyword rich content on your page, which should also be easily viewed.
Create relevant content with keywords and ensure that the sentence / paragraph makes sense and isn't spammed with keywords. The idea is: write your content as you would for a user. Google (or any other search engine), will give importance to content that makes sense. I hope this helps. All the best. Ads |

I seriously doubt scrollable text would ever get picked up by a search engine spider
