on google there is this link at the bottom or side of the google page and its says

its free as long as you're not a sponsered site

For Yahoo you can submit your site for free.. Just find the "suggest a site" link at the bottom of the main page. For Google, try dmoz.com - it's a major search engine project and you can list there for free also...

Google and Yahoo use complicated mathmatical models to determine what shows up where in their list. Obviously you can pay to have your site listed higher. Since that is out of the question, let's see what you can do to make this better.

1. On your 'home page' you will need to establish a Meta key word called 'KEYWORDS" in which you will place the search keywords that are relevant.
2. In the first paragraph of your home page, include as many of the words that are specified in KEYWORDS as possible.
3. Create links elsewhere to the same 'home page'. IN other words, share links with other people, you put theirs on your 'link page' and they put yours on theirs. The more common your webpage address is through out the net, the higher up you will appear.


These 3 things alone can push your web page up higher on the search engines. Remember that these search engines only update themselves periododically so it may be a while before you see your site advance.

Once your name starts appearing closer to the top and people start 'clicking' on it from the search engines, your 'level score' will increase and move you even higher.

However, you will NEVER be as high as those who pay. Sorry.

To show like that you site needs to be search engine optimised. Consult some SEO expert..... and hey there are some programs available that can be of some help in SEO of your site...some of them are free. Just google for seo software.. hiring a good seo exepert will help....
