Why would he wants to talk to me on fb? I need a good advice?

I have an question about this guy.
We got to know each other at the library in university.
He often set next to me and started to say hi and make small talk with me. We were both shy and it was a bit awkward air around us.

After some time, we bumped into each other at the bar. He looked really shy and we talked just a bit. He was with his friends..And that was it.

Then, he added me in fb. Now, he always talks to me around one am before he go to sleep.
Starting with, " why are you still awake?" and talks about this and that. Online chat is much easier for us to talk together. He jokes a lot and I do too.

But the problem starts here,
I want more like to get to know him and having some real talk. Getting to know each other. But he talks to me like, he already knows me...Or does not care much.
Yesterday he asked me "where are you from, again?" I was in shock...Don't you know?
When I asked about his trip to Spain, he started to tell me how Spanish girls were hot I was like...Ok..

He always trying to bring some sexual jokes. Well he always trying to make me say something dirty/ sexual things. Always, trying to make me say things first. I don't hate it. I think it is funny and I enjoy it most of times.
But I starts to thinking, maybe it is only thing that he wants to talk with me about.

I´m not a super sexy type of a girl. He knows many bombshell type of girls. I am not saying that I'm not attractive, I mean, I am not a type of a girl, who act or talk slutty. I don't understand why he want ME for sexual chat, I am so sure there are many other girls who like to chat with him.
He must know that I´m not a easy person...
He once told me that, he admires how I'm a hard working student. I sense that he sees me as a nice person,
Even if he wants to joke about sexual things, he is not rude and pushy. I think that he is still shy, and that is why he wants me to talk about things.

Nowadays we usually talks often around one am- 2am. If I'm online he always started to chat with me.
He also sends me message when I´m offline in daytime.

Its been about one week, he does not ask me out, or ask me about my personal things...(but he might figure it all out, seeing my fb profile)

so what is up with him? Is he interested in me? Or just wanna have some fun?
what does he wants from me?

From what i know guys tend to joke around to be flirtatious he may have a shy personality so he cant speak to you but you need to engage the conversation once he gets to kno you better as a person rather then a fb friend he may talk to you more but he may just want to be friends but from what i read he may like you but ia shy so he talks to you on fb.
