I've typed it in on facebook and google and the only thing I can find is if you advertise I will cost you. I just wondered if each group costs something every week or month?

Do you mean profiles? The actual profiles are free. You can start groups for free. Pretty much everything on Facebook is free unless you are trying to advertise on the sides of the screen. But you can advertise your business by creating a profile for your business and providing information to interested customers.

They are free as in price, not free as in freedom (facebook still has ultimate say) but that's not so bad compared to some other sites.

So yea, they're free.

Yes, they are free. If you create a business page, you can advertise it later, and that's not free, but the creation of the page is free. You just need to be a Facebook user.
