I'm just like youSmile lots of teens are like that! I only use it to communicate with long distance friends.

Yes, it is normal. If you have some sense and realize that Facebook does more harm then good in terms of privacy, then good for you.

Not only is it "norma", but it's preferred.
Don't be a follower, but at the same time don't be anti-social.

Three weeks of keyboard time isn't better than one night of getting together and actually doing something together.

Korea and Japan are already having problems with the social networking epidemic.

You're doing just fine.

BTW, I am a computer engineer and I don't do any social networking. It's not about not being up with technology or "the times"... it's about seeing what is socially valid and what is socially destructive.
All the on-line bullying and cat-fighting and it there's forever and ever.

That is absolutely normal. Everyone has their own preferences, the fact that you would rather speak to someone in person is probably much better than communicating over the internet, although it is quite convenient. I personally do have a Facebook and use it on a daily basis, but quite honestly, I wish I had never started. This is mainly because I feel that I spend too much time on it and it makes me unproductive. But whatever you choose to do, it's your own choice. Do what's right for you.

It's not a big deal if you don't have one. And if you're worried about the friends thing, don't be I mean the people that have like 1000 friends, do you really think they know all those people? No. They just want to seem cool. They probably only know around 50. If you wanted to be like them you could add a bunch of random people too, but what is the point of that? I would suggest getting one just so you could stay in touch with those friends.
