JUST GO TO NETWORK CONNECTION IN YOUR UBUNTU AND THEN TAB THE WIRED CONNECTION,.
THEN DELETE THE WIRED CONNECTION.
AFTER YOU DONE THIS THERE WILL BE NO NOTIFICATION UNTIL YOU CONNECT THE WIRED CONNECTION CABLE

You know 13.04 is still in early beta, right?
So you shouldn't expect anything to work yet.
It is pretty stable for a beta, but it's still not a finished product.
Unless you're a developer, you should NOT touch it yet.
