Why do I feel awkward when people I don't know super well ask how it's going/"to update them on my life"? Is it not genu
I'm studying abroad right now and every time someone I'm not close friends with FB messages me and asks me to "update" them on my time here, it feels so weird to me. Like, fake or like they're living vicariously through me. And I never know what to say because so much has happened.

Is this a normal thing? (Also, I have no pictures/albums on FB of my time here- on purpose)

They're just wondering how you view where you're living compared to where you're from* no big deal* it is normal to ask how ur enjoying ur time there..what you've been up to? learning?
