PSP game update in firmware version 6.60?

I've recently updated my psp from 6.31 to the latest 6.60. Everything works fine but when I went to the options section about the game there was a new button that said "UPDATE". I know it needs internet connection and I know what updating means but do PSP games really have an update?

you don't need to update games unless you want to play online , download add-on content or patch a bug in the game which is what updates do .
if the game freezes or has other issues that make it unplayable that update would be a patch to fix that bug
