Steam connection error "cannot connect to the steam network"?
Whenever I try to open steam it comes up with an error that says "cannot connect to the steam network. Steam is currently unavailable. Please try again later by clicking 'Retry' or start steam in 'Offline Mode' How do you fix this?

Darby it might be the servers. If the servers get flooded with people it gets slow and sometimes stops working. So try again later or tomorow

It just means Steam can't talk to the Steam servers. Either the servers are too busy at the moment to respond correctly or there is a problem between your laptop and the Steam servers on the Internet. Check that your network connection is fine and if it is, try connecting again later. Last issue could be a firewall that is not configured to allow Steam ports through.
