Does a blog also need same seo for search engines like any website for getting more viewers?

I have a general blog. Now I'm thinking of selling a few things through it. Do I have to do seo for doing that? And does seo on a blog has great impact to increase the number of visitors?

Yes it needs. SEO is the basics, after you can try social media marketing, mobile marketing and so on.

Yes, There isnt anny difference between website and blog. Blog is website too. You can write unique quality content and you don't have to be worried about SEO, because people will backlinks you for free.

Yes it does. There isn't much difference when speaking of websites and blogs. They are essentially both the same. So, just like if you want to market your website and increase it's ranking in search engines, you would do the same with your blog. Specially with WordPress blogs, they essentially are the best for SEO. But as earlier posters have said, you can also market with social media and write quality content which would in itself bring great traffic to your blog. But if you're looking for increasing page rank in search engines rapidly, then you'll have to go with SEO.

Yes, you have to do SEO for your blog, website and products so that it can be found and/or get more views. For example, all ecommerce website do SEO on their website/products so that when someone is searching for a product, their product can be found.

Side Note: Are you planning to sell your products on your website? If yes, thene you should definitely do SEO for the product.

If you are planning to sell products by linking it to another way such as affiliate program, then all you have to do is do SEO for your blog so that it can be found.

SEO on a blog definitely increase your visitors. Actually, I believe Google mentioned that it is easier for BLogs to rank better than website because blogs are easier to crawl and it gets update frequently.
