Internet connection problems, please help! PPP acting up.?
I have broadband service and on my laptop I connect wirelessly via a router, but for some strange reason whenever I'm on the internet my PPP modem dial-up connection pops up and freezes my internet access until I click the 'Cancel' button.

I don't understand why the PPP connection box pops up occasionally although I'm connected to the internet wirelessly. Can someone help resolve this issue? The problem is that once that window pops up it freezes my internet connection until I choose 'Cancel.' I don't get why my computer wants me to dial-up when I'm already connected to the internet.

You should actually uninstall the dialup type connection for ppp. It is a load on the machine, and includes drivers for the old modem, which are not required now.

Its actually your choice on this one bud!
If you do want that PPP box thing then accept or press ok... if you really dont want it there should be a never button click on that and the box shouldn't pop up again. If you are already connected there must be something wrong with your wires or maybe it could be turned off! When you choose cancel it sorta means like "pop up later for me" so if there is an option of clicking never... always do so! Another tip is i'd rather use wired unless you work in an office and your using wired for both computers.
Good Luck
